Many different and colorful types of ribbons and garlands are most commonly used to decorate a christmas tree. Some people also use tinsels to decorate their Christmas trees. In the late 19th century, especially in Lauscha Christmas ornaments were made. These Christmas ornaments were made in the glass factories and were a speciality of these glass factories. These glass factories were in the Thuringian forest. The Christmas ornaments constituted of glass being cut into different shapes, sizes and designs. These cut glass designs were then painted with different colors. Sometimes these glass designs were delicately moulded to form other shapes and styles.

Since the Christmas ornaments were discovered and invented this industry became a very large scale industry. The different Christmas ornaments designers were famous all over as the name of this industry spread all over the world. The most important aspect is of lighting a christmas tree. In ancient times the Christmas trees were lighted using different types of candles. Candles of different shapes and sizes were used. But now a days Christmas trees are lighted using electric lights. Electric lights are also known as fairy lights in some countries when they are used to decorate Christmas trees. Electric lights make the Christmas tree look all the more gorgeous, attractive and beautiful.

A Christmas tree cannot be complete without a star or an angel write on the top of the tree. The tree is incomplete without this accessory as this is a symbol with which you can relate some history. Another decoration or accessory was introduced later and that is known as the tinsel. Tinsels are silvered saran based. But these tinseld were not a big success when it came to decorating a christmas tree. In the United States, tinsels were rejected as they did not drape or cover the tree well. But in many European countries these tinsels are still very popular and very much in use. Another very common and extremely important decoration for the Christmas tree are the baubles. Baubles mostly consist of a very small glass setup which is hollow from within. Instead a plastic sphere can also be used. Now in baubles either of the two are used, and one of them is coated with very thin and fine metallic layer. This thin metallic layer helps the surface to be reflective. After this metallic coating, there is another thin and fine coating of a polymer which is pigmented. This pigmentation helps in giving the color.

Many people who have outdoor trees. These people decorate their trees in their yards with food. Food means food for wildlife that is birds. The birds can come and sit on these trees, eat and enjoy and chirp happily. Even they can enjoy Christmas happily with good meals on a beautifully decorated christmas tree. The birds or the other wildlife enjoy seed covered sued cakes, orange cut into halves, cranberries, unsalted popcorns and many more. People can make garlands of these food materials and hang them on the Christmas trees.
